Architecture · Multi-Cloud
Public clouds, in the same platform.
Oasis Multi-Cloud, the seventh module, brings public clouds into the platform that already runs your private infrastructure, so private and public capacity are managed in one place.
Two different mechanisms
Federation connects Oasis clouds. Multi-Cloud connects public clouds.
They are often confused, so they are explained on separate pages.
Federation
Independently owned Oasis clouds trade services by agreement. Financial and contractual transactions go through the Oasis Federation Core; workloads and data do not.
Oasis Multi-Cloud
Public-cloud capacity, managed alongside your private infrastructure through the providers’ own interfaces, in the same platform.
Scope
What it does, and what it does not imply.
What it does
Manage public-cloud capacity alongside private infrastructure, through the providers’ own interfaces.
What it does not imply
Connecting an account does not make every public-cloud service portable, locally hosted or managed in the same depth as your own infrastructure.
What the guidelines cover
What the platform can see and do, the access it needs, what information leaves the public-cloud account, what stays provider-specific, and what happens when the connection is unavailable.
Detailed architecture guidelines for Oasis Multi-Cloud are provided during technical evaluation.
Available today
Public-cloud disaster recovery.
Recovery to a public cloud is available for the non-sensitive workloads you select, through the platform’s integrations with Acronis Cloud and Commvault. It is set per workload, like every other recovery target.
